Global Investment Research (GIR) produces the fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies, and economies, which drive commercial business for the firm. We develop relationships with investing clients and help them achieve superior returns through our industry insights and investment ideas. GIR has two main client groups: • External clients such as Institutional Investors for pensions, hedge and mutual funds • Internal clients such as Equity Sales and Trading Our analysts: • Develop medium to long term investment ideas and strategies that they market to clients • React to market-moving events • Communicate expert views and opinions to the firm's clients and traders as they happen Global Investment Research influences our clients' strategies; the ideas we give other divisions play a central role in the firm's success. SKILLS >> PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, the candidate will be required to: • Researching and critically analysing market information • Auditing company and industry data and statistics • Assisting in compilation and writing of reports and investment recommendations • Building and maintaining financial models using advanced Excel • Handling requests for information from clients and other divisions Skills: the candidate should have the following attributes: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written • Excellent academic background - no specific degree background necessary • A genuine desire to work within Global Investment Research • Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills – experience in excel and working with financial models • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written QUALIFICATIONS • Background(s) could include ACA qualified or part qualified, previous work in an investment bank or CFA qualified Equity Research experience is extremely beneficial
