On 1 October 2007, BlackRock acquired the fund of funds business of Quellos Group, LLC and merged it with BlackRock's existing absolute return and private equity fund of funds business. The combined platform operates under the name BlackRock Alternative Advisors ("BAA"). This transaction brings together BlackRock's extensive global presence with the institutional-quality products and expertise of both firms. This transaction adds considerable investment resources and enhances our ability to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

We are looking for a PCS Fund Accountant who will report directly into the Investment Operations - PCS team.

Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for providing operational support to QB Private Capital III, L.P., (“QPC III”), the third generation Private Capital fund which launched in the fourth quarter of 2006. QPC III is structured as an umbrella vehicle with two separate series in order to provide investors with either a global, diversified private equity portfolio or a diversified private equity portfolio with exposure only to the US domestic private equity sectors. The Fund will invest primarily in private equity investment partnerships in a variety of sectors, including venture capital, leveraged buyouts, mezzanine, distressed and special situations.

Operational support functions will likely include:

  • Monitoring QPC III and underlying investment performance and preparing periodic analysis and reporting for Quellos’ investment research professionals and portfolio managers.
  • Preparation of quarterly fund valuations and annual financial statements for QPC III.
  • Assisting in the preparation of detailed quarterly reporting provided to QPC III investors.
  • Ensuring proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
  • Management of investor capital call and distribution activities.
  • Liaison with QPC III’s independent auditors.
  • Responding to client inquiries and prospective client requests.

  • Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • One to three years of relevant accounting experience. Investment or private equity accounting experience desirable.
  • Solid analytical, communication and organizational skills.
  • Solid accounting skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.This position will be based in Seattle.
