You will represent the Treasury Advisory team and report to the Desk Manager.
The three-strong Treasury Advisory team is part of the Corporate Services department,
which is made up of three sales teams: Treasury Dealing, Treasury Advisory and Project Management.
Each of these specialist teams focuses on a clearly defined customer segment, but they also work together very closely in order to provide corporates with an integrated, high quality service.
The Treasury Advisory team works mainly with international companies based in Belgium, Switzerland and Scandinavia.

2. Responsibilities

You advise companies on optimising their treasury/trading mandate position, which primarily involves selling the following FM products:

  • FX spot, forward, swaps, NDF and options
  • MM deposits / straight loans
  • IR/IRS Derivatives, IRCS, Eonia Swaps and OIS, FRA, Caps and floors, CDS

Establishing and maintaining an excellent, pro-active relationship with your customers is of prime importance in this regard.

Using your sales skills and precise working methods, you will ensure that your customers receive a highly professional service and seamless execution of their transactions.

3. Organisational Context

This post within the Financial Markets department offers you the potential to find fulfilment in the dynamic field of financial markets, and to generate added value for the ING group.

For ING and its customers, the Financial Markets department is the platform for accessing the financial markets, and it plays a key day-to-day role.

In view of the trend towards integration of the various Financial Markets centres within ING (London, Amsterdam and Brussels), you will be able to work in an international environment from the outset, while continuing to focus on the importance of local contacts.

4. Skills and experience

  • University degree, majoring in economics / commerce (applied economics, sales engineer, etc)
  • Or a non-university degree in economics / commerce (Accountancy A1, etc) together with several years' experience in FM.
  • Interest in and/or affinity with the emerging financial markets
  • Fluency in two of the following languages: French, Dutch and English. Knowledge of Spanish or Italian would be an added bonus.

5. Profile

  • Highly commercial and pro-active approach
  • Natural persuasive skills (ability to use well founded arguments to win over contacts)
  • Analytical and a liking for figures
  • An inquiring mind and a thirst for learning
  • Creative and able to think "outside the box"
  • Enthusiastic and flexible (willing to take on a considerable workload)
  • A good negotiator (able to undertake cross-selling and sell packages)
  • Experience: At least three years in the field of Financial Markets and/or Corporate treasury management
  • Portfolio of Scandinavian Corporates and/or knowledge of Emerging Markets are additional advantages
