Description

This position is for a database developer with knowledge of developing, managing, and troubleshooting production and development databases and in maintaining data integrity standards. The position requires a very strong technical foundation and the ability to work in a collaborative atmosphere with end-users and members of the development team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the engineering and designing of development projects involving table design, coding, debugging, and testing tasks.

  • Authoring stored procedures and user-defined functions from design documents.

  • Performing data conversions from flat files into a normalized database structure.

  • Constructing Data Transformation Service packages.

  • SQL DBA duties, including backup and restore and user security implementation.

  • Working closely with members of the team by leading database development for 1 to 3 month projects, perform peer code reviews.

  • Basic competency in C# 2.0

  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in database development with SQL Server, including components and normalization. It is equally important that the successful candidate demonstrates great attention to detail and is able to meet deadlines consistently and efficiently. Preferred candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, although qualified candidates with significant backgrounds in SQL database development will also be considered.

    The successful candidate will also possess the following:

  • 3 years of database development with SQL server and knowledge of Transact SQL.

  • 3 years of experience with SQL Server 2000/2005, Enterprise Manager/SSMS, Profiler, and DBCC.

  • 3 years extensive knowledge of referential integrity, database design and normalization techniques.

  • 3 years experience writing stored procedures, triggers and user-defined functions.

  • 2 years experience working within RAD and the prototyping process.

  • 2 years experience with development of multi-tiered applications.

  • Exposure to SSIS/DTS, 3rd party SQL tools, particularly ER/Studio and C#
