We are looking for a Fund Tax Accountant who will be a member of the Investment Operations – Tax and Compliance team in Seattle.
Description
The Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the tax reporting of the Funds. These responsibilities will include (but are not restricted to) the following:
· Prepare workpapers and assemble documentation used by the Funds’ tax advisors to timely and accurately prepare and review the Funds’ tax returns and the investors’ annual tax information reporting packages.
· Help review the Funds’ tax returns and investor tax information packages, prepared by the Fund’s tax advisors.
· Tax research, as required.
· Calculate tax remittances required for certain Funds.
· Assist in the preparation and review of tax estimates for Fund investors.
· Assist in the development, testing and implementation of automation objectives.
· Draft letters to investors, underlying investment managers and others regarding various tax related matters.
· Special projects, including some that extend beyond tax reporting function.
· Other responsibilities as required.
Requirements
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience is required.
· 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience is required, including preparation of individual, partnership and/or corporate income tax returns.
· Public accounting experience is desirable, but not required.
· Solid analytical and communication skills.
· Solid accounting skills.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Proven ability to work in a team environment.
· Fluent in Microsoft Office products including Excel.
· Interest in the Financial Markets and Financial instruments.
· This position will be based in Seattle.
