Role Description:
Working in the BlackRock Alternative Investment Fund Admin group, this area looks after 8 Funds, all managed on the Beauchamp Hedge Fund Portfolio management system which allows a real-time P&L and valuation.
The team ensures the accuracy of the data and sits with the front office team.
The role is to provide Administration support to the range of Alternative Investments strategies managed in London.
Responsibilities:
The vacancy is for a Hedge Fund Administrator supporting the Fund Managers. The position will entail close daily interaction with the Fund Manager, detailed knowledge of trading strategies and currency positions will assist the successful candidate. Update the Beauchamp system, monitor open positions and reconcile different share class values to records produced by the external Fund Accountant. The candidate will be responsible for the accuracy of all Fund Management information and this will involve daily communication with derivative and equity traders, Prime Brokers and Fund Accountants to ensure that all aspects of the Fund are operating smoothly. The candidate will also prepare P&L attribution analysis for inclusion in the Funds' Fact Sheets and Presentations, and perform periodic NAV reconciliations. The successful candidate will initially support designated Funds, but will learn about the other BlackRock Alternative Investments Funds and will be able to cover for other Hedge Fund Administrators during periods of absence. The role may encompass project work which will further develop the internal systems and overall AI support function within BlackRock. There may also be in-depth involvement in projects to set up the operational aspects of several proposed Fund launches during the next 12 months. The role is extremely varied and encompasses both the Fund Management aspects of the Fund, and also the monitoring of the external Fund Accountants and back office teams who process clients transactions in the Funds.
