Function:
• During a first training period, you are back-up for the trading activities of 1 or more products, managed by the senior traders; • After this first period, you are responsible for the trading activities for commodities (grains, oil-yielding seeds and their derivatives, by-products of the processing industry, …); • You are responsible for the worldwide purchase and sales activities of a number of product groups and you are collaborating very closely with your colleague-traders. You are expected to be acquainted with all the different product groups; • You are responsible for your own client portfolio and you are expected to build / sustain qualitative relationships with your clients; • Besides your responsibility for financial trading, you also are involved in physical trading and hence, you are expected to think along with clients and suppliers with regards to issues related to quality, logistics, … • You are continuously seeking for new markets, you are constantly following the evolutions and trends in the market for understanding the impact they can have on your product portfolio.
Profile:
• You are passionate about the financial markets and you are keen to within the commodities market; • You have a university degree in Economics, possibly complemented with an MBA; • You can look back upon a minimum experience of 2 years as a dealer or trader in equities, fixed income or forex in a dealing room. Experience in commodities is a plus but certainly no must; • You are willing to work in an international context. Your experience is to be situated preferably in an international environment; • You are a born entrepreneur; • You are an excellent communicator and negotiator, have a preference for a direct and open communication and you are very commercial; • You have a strong personality and you are more a team player than an individualist; • You speak several languages (Dutch, French, English) and preferably, you are originally Dutch speaking; • You don’t mind travelling (fairs, client and supplier visits, …)
