Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment companies, is seeking a Sr. Structured Finance Analyst to join the Fixed Income Credit Research Group, which analyzes and evaluates structured finance securities and trends in the context of economic, political, regulatory, and capital markets developments, and contributes to investment decision making and strategy.

You will provide the Fixed Income Group with coverage of CMBS, RMBS, and Asset Backed Securities, including credit cards, auto loans, and home equity; familiarity with residential prepayment models is a plus. You will interact regularly with portfolio managers, and will need to develop and maintain productive relationships with these individuals, as well as with investment banks, issuers, rating agencies, and fellow analysts. Based on your timely and accurate assessments of the current and projected credit quality of issuers, you will recommend to portfolio mangers the purchase and sale of securities in your assigned coverage universe. In addition, you will co-lead an ABS/CMBS satellite investment team and provide strategic direction and actionable recommendations to a centralized investment hub.

Position Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree; Graduate degree in a related field, Finance or Economics, or CFA preferred.
- A minimum of ten years of progressive analytical experience in the financial industry, with a minimum of five years of credit research experience in structured finance.
- Exposure to capital markets via lending, trading, underwriting, or research.
- Demonstrated record of initiative/career advancement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills and team leader skills.
- Ability to make prompt assessments of new information.
