As an Investment Consultant, you will:
- Serve as the relationship owner for assigned Institutional Advisory clients, representing our investment and advisory capabilities to key decision makers, investment committees, and Board members.
- Advise clients on asset allocation, portfolio construction, and fund selection decisions. Consult with clients in the development or adaptation of investment policy statements. Provide discretionary portfolio management and non-discretionary investment consulting to assigned client base.
- Conduct investment reviews for your clients covering the financial markets, and their portfolio results.
- Work closely with our Institutional sales teams to represent VIAS to prospective clients.
- Represent VIAS and the Institutional client viewpoint in the development and enhancement of Vanguard's advisory methodology. Collaborate with colleagues in Investment Counseling & Research and the Investment Strategy Group on investment philosophy and portfolio strategies.
- Learn extensively about Vanguard's funds, advisors and the financial markets.
- Respond to investment-related questions from existing and prospective VIAS clients.
- Write executive summaries for quarterly client reports, commenting on portfolio and fund level performance.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree. MBA and/or specialized financial accreditation such as CFP or CFA preferred.
- Minimum five years work experience, including three to five years of investment-related experience with concentration in portfolio management or analysis.
- Proven experience with external clients and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
- Experience with non-profit organizations and defined benefit plans preferred.
- Highly-developed analytical skills, including ability to use and interpret portfolio analytics (e.g., performance attribution).
- Superior desktop computing skills including spreadsheet capabilities, database knowledge, and other analytical applications preferred.
- Series 63, 65 and 7 or ability to obtain within 3 months are required.
- Ability to travel
