Our client is a reputable and very well established independent operational risk certification firm servicing the hedge fund industry globally. They are currently looking for an experienced Operational Due Diligence Analyst to join the team.

The Role

• Responsible for the completion of operational due diligence reviews of hedge fund managers and offshore administrators
• Planning and co-ordination of due diligence visits, attendance at on site due diligence meetings with managers and administrators and preparation of due diligence reports
• Staff will also assist in the preparation of position papers and presentations summarizing hedge fund industry best practices and participate in client meetings, investor workshops and marketing presentations.

The Candidate

• Top tier academic record and be a qualified accountant (CA, ACA, CPA or similar) with a minimum of three years’ work experience
• Experience in public practice accounting, likely in a Big 4 firm, with a concentration on hedge funds and other financial services clients. Alternatively, you may have experience as a controller/back office professional in a hedge fund, have been an operational due diligence analyst at a financial institution, worked in a fund administration company (particularly when exposed to more complex strategies) or have held a position in a back office / operations role in a large financial institution
• CFA designation is desirable
• Broad knowledge of the hedge fund industry, including an understanding of different hedge fund strategies
• Developed understanding of key operational risks facing hedge fund investors and be familiar with accounting, operational and valuation issues associated with complex financial instruments
• Experience of typical hedge fund structures and legal agreements.
