Global group - looking for senior investment manager for Australian business

This wholesale fund manager is looking to add a senior member to the group, as part of continued growth and strategic change. Managing a team the incumbent will join the senior leadership team and be required to provide input into portfolio decisions across a range of multi manager products spanning all asset classes, domestic and global.

The primary focus will be to empower the team to take responsibility for risk monitoring and reporting for all investment portfolios. The team will utilise their strengths to develop research and evolve a culture of excellence. This person, the head of the team, will guide these members and give them the tools to succeed.

As part of the new strategy the incumbent will join the senior team in providing recommendations and implemented actions to a range of portfolio decisions. We expect that this person will have managed money in previous roles and will have an appetite to take a broader responsibility and develop new investment skills. Working closely with the head of investments this person will bring valued experience to the group.

We expect the successful candidate to have:-

  • Proven markets experience
  • Strong financial academics including post graduate qualifications
  • Prior risk management gained in a fund manager, multi-manager, fund of hedge funds manager, large superannuation fund or other appropriate financial markets group
  • Portfolio management experience and portfolio risk skills
  • Team management and leadership skills
