Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies, is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst - Manager Evaluation to join the Portfolio Review Group.

The Manager Evaluation team researches, selects and monitors the independent investment firms that manage Vanguard's active equity and fixed-income funds. Vanguard engages the services of twenty-five highly regarded institutional investment management firms running sixty-four distinct portfolios across a full range of styles and asset classes. Today these assets total over $370 billion, which makes Vanguard a leading sponsor of sub-advised funds.

A team of Senior Investment Analysts continuously monitors these funds and managers to ensure that the portfolios are invested consistent with the mandate and to address key issues such as personnel changes and process modifications.

In this role you will be responsible for the ongoing oversight and evaluation of a subset of Vanguard funds and managers. You will interact regularly with the portfolio managers and leverage a range of analytical tools to provide insightful recommendations for senior management, research potential new managers, deliver investment reviews for institutional clients, and act as an internal and external resource for market and fund information. You also will generate ad hoc reports, participate in departmental projects related to improving the oversight process, and build strong relationships with Vanguard's investment managers.

Position Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree and/or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience within the investment management industry, with at least five years' concentration in portfolio management or analysis.
- Experience hiring and monitoring investment managers as investment consultants, endowment managers, or pension fund officers, or experience as a portfolio manager or investment analyst with a broad perspective on different investment styles.
- Highly developed analytical skills and thorough understanding of capital markets.
- Ability to evaluate and present multiple investment styles across asset classes in an in-depth and objective manner.
- Demonstrated record of initiative and career advancement, and the ability to work independently at a high level.
- Superior interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and department-specific analytical tools including Factset, Style Advisor and Morningstar.
- Series 6 and 63 licenses or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Ability to travel.
