The purpose of this position is to enhance the portfolio stratification and performance analysis, investigation and reporting capabilities of CarVal Investors (CVI). This position will require global knowledge of the CVI business and interaction with risk management, investment advisors, IT, and operations personnel. Reports to CVI's Risk Manager.
Principle Accountabilities:
Prepare regular reports for use by CVI senior management, investment advisors & functional teams from existing and to be developed systems. Ensure global data integrity of information in the reports and that it is complete and consistent with an understanding of the business activity. Monitor and report deal performance against underwriting. Provide context for investment management and operations personnel to identify and address valuation questions. Provide analysis and reporting to highlight issues/trends. Investigate performance issues. Continually evaluate processes for efficiency improvements and automation Team with internal treasury/cash management functions to help model cash movements and projections in a multi-currency operating environment Working with Risk Management personnel, identify better reporting metrics to communicate portfolio composition and risk factors. Required:
Four year degree in finance/accounting or business 2+ years accounting experience, strong preference for public accounting. Strong financial and data analysis skills Good working knowledge of U.S. GAAP Strong computer skills, high proficiency with Excel, familiarity with accounting and position keeping systems Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Have the ability to investigate problems, find solutions, and determine best approach to resolve issues. Ability to ask relevant, informed and intelligent questions about transactions, structures, relationships and risks. Preferred
CPA Demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills including strong listening skills. Demonstrate strong commercial focus and desire to improve processes and find value added solutions. Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and handle multiple demands.
