The Securities Master candidate will act as liaison between the business side of the enterprise and the providers of services to the enterprise
This role encompasses many of the traditional analyst work roles: consultations and discussions with end users (business technology users, traders, managers, and other stakeholders), workflow evaluation, data attribute identification, and associated technical documentation
Strong technical understanding of data and data relationships will be called for, especially: domain modeling, logical and physical data modeling, data schemas, and communication protocols between data sets
The Instruments Data Systems Team (IDS) is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining a rich set of tools, services, and systems to manage the definition of Instruments and related data for the trading systems. In addition, this team is engaged in constructing a next-generation Global Security Master that can support all Instrument-related activities throughout the entire organization
As a member of this team, a large portion of your time will be spent on Domain and Data modeling and on working with the developers to design, develop, and implement SOA services
The candidate is expected to have a deep knowledge of Instruments and markets and be able to bring that knowledge to bear on the various modeling tasks
Essential Functions
Assists with, and drives, the domain and data modeling activities for the IDS group, providing a market-based perspective
Acts as a liaison between enterprise business users and IDS
Works closely with IDS developers, architects, and database designers to design database schemas and object models
Provides integration, data, and analytical support to the consumers/users of IDS systems
Provides framework and technical analysis and specifications for IDS projects
Provides IDS-specific consulting to the stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives
Required/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years experience in a technical/business analyst capacity
Ability to assemble, analyze, and evaluate data and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support the business stakeholders and the project team
Knowledge of or experience in the buy-side/sell-side trade industry
A thorough understanding of Domain, Logical Data, and Physical Data modeling concepts
Hands-on knowledge of ERWin strongly preferred in addition to UML, process flows, use cases, interview skills, workshop facilitation, and investigation of current state (existing systems and/or processes)
Understanding of Object Oriented design and Service Oriented Architecture
Understanding of relational database technologies and concepts
Basic understanding of SQL; Oracle PL/SQL knowledge and experience preferred
Willingness to work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
Hands-on development experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan and lead small projects
Ability to meet deadlines and to work well under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
