Our client, a premier Canadian distressed fund, is seeking a Senior individual with a strong focus and experience with Distressed companies to join their team. The company has an opportunistic, value-based strategy with a focus on extracting value across the capital structure..

The successful candidate will be results driven, highly numerical and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. With solid experience, the individual should have excellent technical skills and feel comfortable performing analysis and providing recommendations on distressed companies, bankruptcy and default situations. This is a premium opportunity for an outstanding and tremendously talented individual to join a highly profitable business with the determination to succeed in distressed investments opportunities.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Perform bottom-up valuation analysis of distressed companies, bankruptcy, high-yield and default situations
  • Formulate investment ideas, research, and provide recommendations of investment opportunities
  • Communicate and defend investment ideas


Qualifications:

General:
 

  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Determined, entrepreneurial.


Specific:

  • Experience working in leveraged finance, high yield debt, structured finance, prop desk, private equity or a hedge fund
  • Proven track record of value investing in distressed high yield debt
  • Impressive academic track record
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills
