The Global Operations and Administration Group is responsible for the orderly execution and settlement of daily trading volume for BlackRock’s assets under management. GO&A professionals serve as liaisons between custodian banks, the dealer community, and portfolio managers. The Global Corporate Actions Department is a high impact, high-risk area that monitors and executes capital changes on all securities held within the BlackRock Investments. The Department performs a crucial role by monitoring events such as corporate reorganizations, acquisitions, mergers, dividends, interest, principal payments, etc. The information is prepared for processing and communicated to the appropriate areas. In addition, the team interacts daily with BlackRock Investments Portfolio Managers & Traders, Brokers, Fund Accounting, Pricing, Operations and Custodial Banks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Portfolio Management across all BlackRock Businesses;

  • Coordinate Portfolio Management responses on all voluntary Corporate Events with Custodian Banks and Fund Accounting Agents;

  • Participate in building controls around Corporate Action processing;

  • Process all Corporate Action on Internal Systems and ensure accurate positions for trading and PM reporting;

  • Reconcile the effect of Corporate Actions on Internal Systems;

  • Complete multiple tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once;

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment and interact with all levels of the organization;

  • Strong interpersonal skills;

  • Previous corporate actions or securities operations experience in a custodial bank, brokerage or mutual funds company preferred;

  • SunGard/Invest One experience a plus;

  • Bachelor's Degree a plus;

  • Bloomberg experience a plus;

  • Strong analytical/problem solving capabilities.
