Principal Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to work across various business areas (Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Bank Loans, Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance) to design and develop web-based applications using Java based technologies like Spring, Hibernate and also enable these web apps to have Web 2.0 capabilities using JSF, AJAX, etc.

There are several major development projects currently underway to replace legacy systems, so the candidate will be working with the core tech team on the next generation of capital markets systems. There are multiple opportunities to work with new technologies and make significant contributions that help define the technical direction for the team. Also will use some agile methodologies like unit test and continuous builds.

Other responsibilities includes adding enhancements to existing applications and also supporting various Capital Markets system. Teamwork is key and most projects involve working closely with the New York, London and Asian IT teams.

The person in this role is expected to perform a pivotal role within the global team having primary responsibility for Asia, driving and manage multiple projects with global and regional impact as well as being focused on technical implementation & delivery and support. The vast majority of applications are global and web-based, serving the needs of the diverse user base and business workflows.The role may also require liaising with other technical teams within the organisations, e.g. DBAs, Systems Administrator, Help Desk, other core infrastructure teams as well as vendors.

Experience / Skills: Required

  • 5 - 8 Years application development experience 
  • Strong core Java / J2EE
  • Strong SQL
  • Experienced with some web technologies like JSP, Struts, JSF, JavaScript and HTML
  • Unix, Sybase familiarity
  • Good OO Analysis and Design skills
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good interpersonal, business-facing skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure in time-critical situations using sound judgment & professionalism
  • Ability to integrate into and work well within a global team
  • Person should exhibit a flexible attitude and dynamic approach to supporting applications/users as well as undertaking development projects.
