Compensation Accounting is responsible for the payment and accounting of all salary, bonus, and other types of remuneration paid to employees of the firm worldwide. We are responsible for reporting wage information and processing tax payments to domestic and international tax authorities. In addition, we are responsible for the accounting, wage reporting and taxation of Equity Compensation. We work closely with areas of the firm such as Human Capital Management, Tax, Treasury, Management Reporting and others.
Part of this group’s responsibility is to ensure that the compensation expense of the firm is paid and accounted for correctly on the firm’s books and records for employees in the Asia Ex-Japan (AEJ) offices.
Responsibilities:-
-Coordination, processing and tax reporting of compensation information for employees in Asia-Ex Japan locations
-Responsible for the compensation reporting and accounting for both external as well as internal authorities
-Commitment to control, ensuring data/ information flow has gone through proper internal controls
-Review, reconcile and substantiate monthly entries to general ledger accounts for their region for various payroll and accrual entries
-Assist in formulating/automating payroll process to facilitate new operations for the firm. This may involve new pay entity set up and/or implementing tax effectiveness programs/new benefit programs
-Working closely with global CA counterparts in the administration of compensation reporting for responsible regions
-Documentation of processes
-Participation in global projects and ad-hoc requests
Skills:-
-Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
-Strong payroll accounting and tax audit skill set; journal posting, account balance reconciliation, advanced MS Excel required
-Good analytical skill and detail oriented
-Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
-Flexible, can easily adapt to changes
-Knowledge on Asia Ex-Japan income tax and local benefits is advantageous
-Mandarin language skills preferred due to China exposure
