Are you looking for an opportunity to use your banking skills in a new environment, Are you interested in leveraged finance, our client is a well known institution that can enhance your career enormously, this job is all about taking on a key role in the deal management process in relation to leveraged finance transactions for Corporate Banking customers and mid market Private Equity participants. Developing relationships with the leveraged finance group Corporate Banking Executives and Relationship Managers and external private equity forms, deal structuring, negotiation with clients, lawyers and accountants, financial modelling, preparation of briefing papers and credit memoranda, obtaining of credit approval and deal execution. Duties will include :

• Screening of transactions conjunction with origination directors located nationally, via their dialogue with and referrals from external private equity clients, relationship Managers and other sources
• Active participation in the transaction process to ensure a differentiated leveraged finance offering to the target mid-market customer base
• Continually seeking out transactions with and developing structures to deliver optimised revenue relative to risk.
• Assist in deal execution with attention to detail whilst being incisive and maintaining commercial reality. Balance in execution style between rigour, obtaining relevant protection for the bank and ensuring deals are executed in a timely fashion.
• Be a coach for junior analysts in the unit as to deal execution excellence.
• Undertaking the preliminary assessment and preparation of briefing papers in conjunction with the LF team and preparing detailed financial models to assist with risk assessment and structure.
• Assist originators to negotiate the facility structure / pricing, scoping and completion of due diligence, preparation of the credit memorandum and negotiation / completion of facility and security documentation.
• Developing an internal network amongst Corporate Bank and origination directors
• Build profile with external private equity clients to ensure the Leveraged Finance division is front of mind for transaction opportunities.
• Building a credible profile consistent with being regarded as an “expert” in leveraged/ structured debt solutions
• Developing relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Credit, Relationship Executives etc to understand the business priorities of the Corporate sector.

To be a strong contender for the role you hold be able to offer the following:

• Strong credit/risk assessment skills gained through at least 3 years experience in corporate, institutional or investment banking;
• Computer literacy and modelling skills eg. Excel, etc;
• Strong mathematical and analytical ability with experience in the interpretation and analysis of complex financial data and cashflow/financial modelling;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with particular emphasis on ability to extract relevant information and present in a concise format;
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to interface with clients at a senior level.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Law.
