You will have the option to manage the Insurance Platform sales. Responsible for getting relationships with platforms to get distribution arrangements with them, you will have a clear understanding of the insurance industry value and the products that get packaged up by the platforms. You may come from the platforms, or have been in insurance sales/distribution before, but you must be comfortable owning, negotiating and bringing in these relationships.
There will also be the chance to focus on the asset management industry. You may therefore be an asset management person but with a broad product knowledge and able to talk to a wide audience. You may well have worked at a life company before moving to asset sales or come from an asset management quant environment.
It is probable you will be a strategic thinker who may well be in another risk management firm, a consultancy or a large life insurer. These roles offer challenge, freedom, opportunity, visibility and ownership and will be highly rewarding, but will only suit the best in their field.
