Job Description Overview
Calypso Technology is seeking a Front Office Business and Quality Assurance Analyst with at least 5 years Functional experience gained in the capital markets industry working for a software vendor a consultancy or a buy- or sell-side financial institution. This should include support and/or implementation of Front and/or Middle Office Systems for Fixed Income or Derivatives in Interest Rates or Credit. Experience in the Structured Finance products of ABS, MBS, CMOs and/or CDOs would be a significant plus.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to define testing methods and create and execute a test plan to ensure the quality of new development in adding Structured Finance Fixed Income to the Calypso product. Responsibilities will include testing of Calypso trade capture and analytics as well as integration with commercial Structured Finance deal databases and prepayment and default models.
  • Provide customer support for the Fixed Income Front Office build-out.
  • Interact directly with users of the Calypso system to gather and document their business requirements, and with the customer project/systems team to implement those requirements. Follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.
  • Assist customers in identifying functional gaps in the core front office product, and to create detailed functional specifications for the gaps, and to determine whether those functional enhancements will be implemented by core Calypso development or as custom development by the customer’s own implementation team.
  • During the development of enhancements, the business analyst will work with either the Calypso core development or customer development to iteratively test enhancements to ensure they will meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for training users on basic use of the system, new functionality, etc.
  • Manage the lifecycle of client reported bugs – including replicating, reporting, providing test cases and scheduling for upcoming patches. Work closely with both Product Management and Engineering to ensure inclusion of enhancements requested by clients.

  • A basic understanding with the desire to learn more about quantitative analytics related to Fixed Income and Structured Finance is a prerequisite (e.g., cash flow analysis, duration, convexity, total rate of return, prepayment models, default models, Monte Carlo, Option Adjusted Spread).
  • Knowledge of Credit Derivatives is not mandatory, but desirable.
  • Strong quantitative analysis and problem solving skills.
