Reliability Engineer

Job Description:

Interactive Data's Real Time Services Group, located in White Plains, New York, is seeking a talented Computer Operations professional to join our team as a Reliability Engineer.

This newly created role is responsible for insuring the operational reliability of our real-time financial services products. Incumbents will analyze the design, functionality, performance, production and end-user satisfaction of our products and insure that each of these components meets or exceeds our expectations for reliability. Will determine the appropriate methods/measures of analysis, based on customer and contractual obligations, and will prepare reports, charts and diagrams to present results of analysis and highlight areas for further investigation.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining documentation pertaining to systems operation and user documentation; evaluating the organization's data processing needs; and developing long-term plans to meet business requirements. You will also be responsible for documenting problems and solutions and serving as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Finally, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks related to overall reliability. A certain degree of creativity and lattitude is required.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate should be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within Information Technology and Market Data. Proficiency with TCP//IP, Multicast, Internetworking/Routing, Linux, MS Office Suite (Visio, Word, Publisher, Excel, Project & Power Point) and SNMP is essential. Candidates must also have experience with the following tools: CA Spectrum, HP Sitecope, HP Openview, CA eHealth. Nagios is highly desireable.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to rely on their own experience and judgment to accomplish goals. College degree is preferred; 2-4 years experience in the field is essential.
