The business solutions manager will lead software development teams to produce quality software solutions for Equity Research and Client Management areas of the front office. This role is highly visible to a very successful business with the bank being consistently ranked No.1 in Asia; delivering and maintaining high quality software, under pressure is one of the major challenges. Significant opportunities exist to deliver new and innovative solutions to a very demanding business audience, offering a unique and very exciting prospect to the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the business to identify goals and objectives for each initiative or project
- Own the vision for the initiative/project
- Describe/document the requirements at a high level, communicate the detailed vision to the development teams
- Build and maintain software delivery teams to successfully meet the agreed objectives
- Set, maintain and communicate the schedule to the business
- Monitor and report status
- Maintain key relationships with the business sponsors
- Manage the delivery of the software solutions from inception to deployment
Experience Required
Primarily the candidate must possess strong domain knowledge of the equities markets, an essential quality needed for this role. This person should be thoroughly familiar with reading company balance sheets and fundamental stock valuations as a large portion of the role will be liaising with the business to clearly understand (and to help them clarify) what the business needs are. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the business will be a key success factor in this role.
The right person will have a demonstrable ability to guide and drive software development and production support teams to deliver against identified, mutually agreed business objectives. This will be from inception to deployment, covering all aspects through requirements gathering, actual software build, testing, quality to ensuring the production environments are ready. We need, not just a strong team player, but someone who can build and maintain a great team.
A technical background is not necessary nor important compared with equities domain knowledge and a proven ability to manage software development teams.
