Our client is a leading financial organisation with a strong reputation for hiring and developing top calibre people thereby maintaining their premier status. They currently seek such an individual to lead the Market and Operational Risk within the bank and contribute to the continued success of their leadership position in the market.

The role is responsible for the oversight of the trading activities and risk management process for FX, Rates and Commodities, ensuring all material market risks are identified, measured and managed. Further you will be responsible for the on-going development and maintenance of risk measurement methodologies, risk limit framework, VaR and risk policy for the measurement and management of market risk including monitoring the compliance of trading activities with risk limits. This is the perfect opportunity to champion a strong Market Risk culture across the business by ensuring that trading activities are well-managed and controlled at best practice. You will also lead the Operational Risk Manager to mitigate the banks exposure to adverse risk situations including BCP and DRP. Essential is your ability to foster a mutually respectful relationship between the Market Risk Group and Trading, The Operations team and Senior Management as well as fostering close ties with other key stakeholders.

A tertiary qualification in a finance discipline and a good knowledge of Market Risk management and measurement techniques, including high numeracy and project management skills will be essential. You will be a strong communicator and influencer, who can interact with and shape risk decisions at the senior level. Exhibiting strong products, pricing and risk analytics as well as lateral thinking you will deliver solutions and make decisions that fit within the real time business needs. A true self motivated professional you will demonstrate sound judgement and comprehensive markets product and dealing knowledge, thereby creating value for the organisation and ensuring the path to success in your future career.
