Our client is one of the leading banks in the Asia-Pacific region. Due to an active mandate for further growth of the business and a strategic plan to expand in Asia, there now exists an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Risk and Compliance team..

Job Description:
You will be instrumental in the assessment and implementation of risk management approaches and compliance obligations that are consistent with the Group’s corporate risk policies and framework.

Key responsibilities include the development of business and operational risk management plans and regulatory controls and the establishment of framework for new country and product analysis for the Asian region as well as undertaking a thorough risk review of all operational activities in Asia. Leading a team, you will provide ongoing monitoring, reporting and advice to management on business, regulatory compliance and operational risk matters. You will identify relevant risks and address any gaps in the internal controls framework as well as conduct compliance testing and monitoring.

The successful applicant:
The successful candidate is a degree holder in a business related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years experience in operational risk management and/or compliance within the financial services or banking environment. You should have excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong project management skills. Candidates with experience in external or internal audit in banking will be favorably considered.
