Position Title: Analyst/Associate - HR Controller

Job Level: Analyst/Associate

Location: USA - NY - New York

Education Required: Bachelors Degree

Position Description:

The position will report to the departmental VP and Sr. Manager. The position is responsible for managing certain functions for the group (HR Controllers), which primarily include the processing of deferred compensation expense, revenue and the related legal entity accounting and reporting.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Perform duties related to monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
  • Handling of participant investment re-allocation process (i.e. completion of subscription and redemption requests, processing of buy and sell orders, review and recording of wire transfers)
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures regarding several deferred compensation plans (DCPs).
  • Research DCP processing discrepancies and respond to inquiries from various internal clients, colleagues, internal and external auditors.
  • Liaison with various corporate and LOB group (i.e. HR, Executive Compensation, Operations and Fund Controllers, Legal, Tax, and IT departments).
  • Ensure compliance with, and implement proper, general ledger operating procedures.
  • Maintain and update strong control environment/audit documentation
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of the internal control procedures.
  • Manage automation and other process improvements.
  • Perform monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliation, substantiation, and certification (i.e 3Rs sign off).
  • Perform SOX documentation

  • 1-3 Years experience
  • Detail oriented and extremely well organized
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments successfully in a fast paced, challenging and changing environment.
  • Great interpersonal skills and effective at dealing with all levels of the organization
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical and personal computing skills with a mastery of excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • BS in accounting is desired.
