Our client, a leading edge organisation in the digital media industry has recently expanded their SE Asian operations. Due to this exciting growth, they are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join their high-energy team based in Singapore.

As Legal Counsel, you will provide support for their growing and diversifying operations in Singapore and South East Asia, reporting into a Senior Legal Counsel in the region.

Your day-to-day life will require the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously while working independently towards their completion. The expectation is that within 3 months you will become an indispensable resource to the team. 

The work will include using your proven transactional expertise to draft, review and negotiate various corporate and commercial agreements including licensing, marketing, content, distribution, e-commerce, channel and online media agreements relating to our advertising, search and mobile businesses. You will also manage general corporate and commercial matters, including litigation, product reviews, reviews of advertising and promotions laws, ensuring site and deal compliance with applicable laws and assisting with corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters. You will also support the office in Singapore and businesses in South East Asia on all legal matters as required from time to time. You will work closely with outside counsel in Singapore and around South East Asia and with many of the U.S. and international in-house lawyers. Additionally, you will be a valued partner to the  business, technical, and finance teams.

To excel in this role, you will have 4 to 6 years of qualified experience, admission to the bar in Singapore, with excellent academics, and sound commercial sense. You will also be familiar with internet, media and intellectual property laws and issues, and regulatory and current corporate governance practices in Singapore and South East Asia. You must also have a love for the Internet, an understanding of online business models, and a great sense of humour! You must be able to work independently, manage tight deadlines and thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced and constantly changing and evolving environment.
