SunTrust Bank has a current opportunity for a Forecasting and Planning Manager supporting SunTrust Mortgage. This position is located in the Corporate Office for SunTrust Mortgage (“STM”) in Richmond, Virginia.

The Forecasting & Planning Manager will manage the forecasting, planning, and management reporting functions for the Mortgage Line-of-Business.  The manager will oversee a team of 3 financial analysts; providing guidance and career development.  The team will create and maintain robust processes and tools to facilitate the development and submission of predictive divisional forecasts on a monthly basis. These processes will leverage economic/industry trends and internal business information; involving coordination with divisional senior financial officers and business partners. The Planning & Forecasting Manager will coordinate the annual financial target setting process.  LOB financial results will be analyzed, interpreted, and communicated each month.  This process will culminate in the preparation of a comprehensive Business Line Performance Review package for review with STI Executive Management.  The team also provides detailed analysis and/or explanations for Mortgage management, STI Executive Management, and STI Corporate Finance.  This role includes support of the quarterly earnings release and 10K/Q through the provision of schedules, narratives, and customized Q&A.  Corporate and LOB special projects are supported on an as needed basis.   The team drives optimal performance measurement processes/techniques/methodologies; providing a strong financial/analytical platform for decision making.

SunTrust is seeking candidates with a degree in business (Finance, Accounting, Economics) and at least 7+ years of proven financial management experience in the Financial Services industry; 5 years Mortgage banking a plus.  Prior experience managing a corporate forecasting/planning process. Ability to interpret financial information and underlying drivers. Excellent analytical skills.  MS Office proficiency. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.  Ability to distill detail in to relevant information for senior management.
