POSITION:
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will develop a comprehensive sales program designed to drive revenue growth. The BDO will actively prospect to build relationships and identify sales opportunities. He/she will institutionalize relationships with clients by creating and pursuing cross-sell opportunities in conjunction with Relationship Managers. The BDO will lead the sales process from prospect identification through the final presentation, coordinating resources within the firm to maximize the opportunity for success. BDOs will work directly with consultants in order to institutionalize the relationship, ensure proactive communication, and broad product coverage. To be successful, the BDO must build solid internal relationships with Product and Relationship Managers, as well as Portfolio Managers. They must also be familiar with all major investment products and learn new investment products as they are launched into the marketplace.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree in Business or Economics and/or CFA preferred. 5 to 10 years of fixed income sales experience selling directly to institutional clients, including corporations, endowments and foundations. General knowledge of and experience in fixed income products. Demonstrated record of success in established relationships within the institutional marketplace. Broad capital markets knowledge and an understanding of credit markets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
