The research and investment operations group at Man Investments is responsible for the development, adjustment and management of our in-house trading systems, the design of our investment portfolio, the day-to-day monitoring of risk and the collation and analysis of financial market data.

Responsibilities

• Provision of support to the Research and Investment Management teams
• Completion of investment operations monitoring processes, including:

1. daily trade and trade execution analysis
2. production and review of intra-day AHL risk reports
3. P&L verification with valuation agents
4. accurate and timely implementation of system changes from Research through               to Trading Systems/IT Operations
5. daily integrity review of historical and current data
6. accurate and timely project management of larger portfolio optimisation implementation plans

• Coordination and implementation of new markets
• Accurate and timely implementation of AHL regears and rebalances
• Setup and ongoing operational support for new trading strategies
• Interaction with other business unit functions
• Periodic review of external counterparties and service providers, prime brokers, executing counterparties, etc

Requirements

• Excellent IT skills including familiarity with Windows, UNIX and SQL; ability to review and understand programming code
• Deadline focused and well organised, in order to effectively manage projects through to delivery
• Good working knowledge of financial markets and instruments, both exchange traded and OTC, through previous experience within the financial services sector
• Degree in a numerate/IT focused discipline, IMC qualification beneficial
• A problem solving attitude is required
• A meticulously accurate approach to data entry and results review is necessary. High attention to detail
•  An analytical ability to investigate trading system behaviour and test results
• The ability to work under pressure, whilst maintaining high degree of accuracy, especially when conducting time critical processes and carrying out emergency procedures
