Company: This company has traded in China since 1885. Today, it is one of the leading foreign investors in the Chinese chemical industry and employs over 5,500 people here. The company currently operates 29 wholly owned subsidiaries and 9 joint ventures in Greater China. In order to stay in tune with local markets, the company maintains 6 offices in Beijing, Nanjing, Qingdao and Chengdu, and two branches in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Starting its first subsidiary in Hong Kong, the China Ltd., in 1982, this company is responsible for sales, marketing and distribution of imported and locally manufactured products in Hong Kong and China.

Role: As experienced manager of the China Tax Planning platform, he/she will provide tax planning services of the highest quality and be responsible for advising the companies and joint ventures in China on tax issues as well as supporting the headquarters as part of companies global tax network. Manager and Department Manager Tax (supported by an assistant) are together responsible for Tax Planning China, directly reporting their respective projects to companies global tax function in Hong Kong / Germany.

Candidate: The right candidate must be a qualified tax expert, tertiary education in Accounting and / or Law, ideally with overseas education, preferably majored in Tax. You will need at least 8 years working experience in the area of tax with at least 5 years in tax planning with either international law firms or international accounting firms (preferred) or as in-house counsel for multinational companies. Furthermore, intensive knowledge and experience in China direct and indirect taxation with understanding of principles and structures of international taxation and transfer pricing is a must.
