Fixed Income Trading Support - Global Bank

Support for all Fixed Income trading globally(Level 2).
Work very closely with the Level 1/Trading Floor support and Application Development in London to support all trading of Rates and Credits, including derivatives. We are only supporting core trading activities with volumes of billions of dollars per day. Singapore covers the first half of the European business hours and support is then handed over to Houston for coverage of the second half of European business hours and US business hours.
Presently, the team does not support APAC business, but one of the key projects for 2008 is to get APAC on boarded. The Singapore team currently starts around noon, and leaves around 9pm. With the introduction of APAC this will expand and 1-2 team members will have to cover APAC hours.

Currently the team consists of twelve people in Singapore, plus one London, and we are looking to expand it by one additional team member in Singapore.

The team's main responsibilities are:
Ensure correct functionality of all supported systems before EMEA business start. Support and attend to production issues intra day in real time interaction with Level 1. Own the production,DR and UAT environments
Perform releases of software updates into these environments
Interact with Application Development and external vendors to actively participate in change management processes
Liaise with Infrastructure teams to make sure the hardware platforms meet the business requirements
Together with Houston make sure the business is not impacted in any way by the transition between the two sites
The team supports a total of about 15 applications. Most applications reside on Unix or Linux platforms, using Sybase or Oracle databases and SAN storage.

Qualifications

Technical degree from recognized university
Good Unix/ Linux knowledge and experience
Good Sybase/ Oracle knowledge and experience
At least 3 years experience in application support in the investment banking sector
Support of trading applications a distinct advantage
Strong sense of urgency as the business is extremely time critical
Excellent communication skills
Analytic mindset and high attention to detail
