Looking for a senior sales professional to sell the market leading Portfolio Valuations product in the US, based in the New York office. Predominantly new business although some account management responsibilities, looking after existing PV accounts


Responsible for all aspects of business development for the Portfolio Valuations product line. The candidate will be a key driver for revenue acquisition and will ensure that the business goals are achieved. The candidate will be integral to the team structure – working closely with the head of PV sales and head of US sales, PV product management, Markit sales people and account managers. Specific responsibilities these include:

Generation of Portfolio Valuations sales plan for US

Generation of qualified pipeline for new business and existing clients

Managing full sales process from lead to contract, with active reporting of the pipeline to management

Cross selling within existing and new business accounts. For multi product opportunities, the relevant sales people will be involved and a sales referral will be recorded. It is expected that the candidate be awarded with a combination of sales revenue and sales credits for referrals. The skew will be focussed to sales revenue.

Identify the client needs and feedback any requirements to product management

Assistance in the hiring process

Assistance in the budgeting process

Mentoring other sales people in team

Assistance in the implementation of all marketing related activities which would include: conference / sponsorship participation, sales collateral production, client entertainment; association memberships

Relationship maintenance and development with key relationships

Renewal of existing contracts

Strategic work and thinking with client base to identify new initiatives and partnership opportunities

Internal communication and reporting

• Proven 8+ years new business sales experience from a data, financial software or banking background

• Experience of derivative products and instruments mandatory

• Experience of equity derivative sales preferred

• Ability to present and negotiate with senior level management whilst in many cases, managing complex sales process

• Must be organized and ability to manage multiple sales in parallel (20+ at any one time)

• Ability to meet internal/external deadlines

• Personable and able to demonstrate initiative

• Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude.

• Bachelors degree in Finance/Marketing preferred
