Commercial Banker/SME Banker

The role holder is primarily responsible for driving profitable volume growth through value added sales and service incorporating the full range of products offered by SME Banking. These products include asset, liability & forex proposition.
They manage an assigned portfolio of customers within the Small and Medium Enterprise segments and work on adding new customers to the portfolio.
Role holders tend to have deep expertise in the Small and Medium Enterprise segment in his or her geographic area

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / CHALLENGES:

Relationship Management:
Grow customer portfolio size by deepening existing customer relationships.
Provide advice on potential financial solutions based on identified needs.
Resolve client queries without further escalation.
Analyse financial requirements of customer and match with bank's product offerings.

Client/Business Acquisition:
Solicit new to Bank and new to product leads from SME segment.
Convert leads successfully into new to Bank or new to product sales.
Contribute to sales generation activities especially through referrals from highly satisfied customers.
Analyse and review potential business opportunities to ensure maximum profitability.

Resource Coordination:
Collaborate with product, credit and functional specialists to deliver timely and effective customer solutions.
Proactively work with product, credit & functional specialists across different value centers to satisfy customers’ needs, within risk parameters.

Risk Mitigation:
Operate within Risk & Compliance requirements/ framework.
Able to spot early warning signs.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

Requirements:
Degree in Business, Finance, Banking or equivalent qualifications.
Relevant banking experience with a proven track record (within SME sphere).
Highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to establish rapport and develop a relationship with clients
