Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management (MAFAM) Limited is a DFSA-licenced Asset Management company.  Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced equities analyst , specialising in the banking sector, to join our MENA asset management team. Based in Dubai and reporting to the Head of Research, the Associate will be responsible for evaluating, selecting and monitoring the banking sector in the MENA region.

Key responsibilities will include:

•  Conduct ing investment research and financial analysis in the banking and financial sector on investment opportunities for MENA portfolio.
•  Constructing and developing all necessary financial models used in the investment research process.
•  Updating database and financial models needed to conduct the research analysis.
•  Conducting due diligence on relevant investment opportunities and writing research reports.
•  Reviewing third party research and incorporating into in-house reports, ensuring independence and objectivity in investment recommendations.
•  Performing company valuations using different valuation models, including DCF and multiples valuations based on adequate projection assumption with a fair value.
•  Pro-actively generating ideas and non-standard approaches in order to improve performance.
•  Collaborating with team members on regular reports/tasks.
•  Providing research for other MAFAM divisions in investment analysis when required.
•  Maintaining general awareness of industry practices and global investment activities.
•  Maintaining positive working relationships with relevant third parties in the MENA region.
•  Supporting the MENA division in developing and producing monthly reports.
•  Contributing to regular strategy and investment-specific meetings.
•  Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures of MAFAM and maintaining code of ethics and conduct in the work place.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and preferably an MBA and/or CFA qualification.  Due to the highly analytical nature of this role, strong research and report-writing skills are a must, as are excellent verbal communication skills.  Ideally, a minimum of 4 years' experience in the MENA region (or exposure to MENA markets) is preferred; however, candidates with experience in the analysis and research of the banking sector in other regions will also be considered.
