BlackRock takes a dynamic approach to alternative investments, creating investment vehicles that increasingly capitalize on evolving opportunities in fast-changing markets. We offer clients strategies designed to provide returns with low correlations to the broad equity and bond markets, including private equity, real estate equity and debt, hedge funds of funds, single-strategy hedge funds, long-only absolute return strategies, commodities and structured products. Our alternative investment capabilities are fully integrated into BlackRock, allowing investment teams to capitalize on the firm’s considerable resources in areas such as risk management, product development, client service and operational support.

The Real Estate team manages private real estate debt and equity in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia. Investments span a wide range of strategies, including core, value-add and opportunistic equity and high-yield debt, for a premier list of institutional and private investors. As of March 31, 2008, BlackRock managed approximately US$31.4 billion in such assets.

We are looking for a highly motivated, data-savvy individual with experience analyzing, and interpreting real estate market fundamentals. The primary responsibilities of the analyst is to monitor the real estate property markets and how they pertain to our real estate portfolios.

Responsibilities

· The Research Analyst is responsible for performing real estate market research to support the firm in its investment strategies, acquisitions, portfolio, property management, and property sales programs.


· Conduct real estate market analysis, which focuses on real estate, economic and demographic trends and write overviews that summarize the results of this research.


· The analyst will also assist in developing models to predict the various influences on real estate performance such as submarket forecasting and portfolio attribution models.

Skills and Qualifications

· The successful candidate will have a minimum of one-year of experience in real estate property market, financial or economic analysis with strong analytical and computer skills.


· Knowledge of EViews, S-Plus, Arc-View, SQL and/or Visual Basic skills are required.


· Must also possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as analytical skills.


· Must have a Degree in Real Estate, Economics, Geography or related field.


· Skilled at creative problem solving and deductive reasoning.


· A strong knowledge of the Windows environment and Microsoft products including Excel and Access is also necessary.


· Highly attentive to detail.
