Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
A self starting individual who can be a positive contributor in a team environment. The candidate must have excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills with a detail oriented mind set. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field. Knowledge of Microsoft technology and ability to meet the needs of a growing and evolving business environment. Experience converting to .Net applications is also a plus. 3 plus years of hands on experience with one or more of the following tools/technologies: .Net (C# and VB), Oracle, SQL Server (2000 and 2005, SSIS, Reporting Tools (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and MS Reporting Services), SharePoint Services, ASP, ASP.Net, COM and Windows 2000/XP/200, Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Role requires familiarity with software development processes and disciplines. Candidate should possess an understanding of financial services industry. Knowledge of Fixed Income securities and terminology is a plus.
