Fund Operations Manager- Channel Islands
The purpose of the Manager role is: -
- To manage a fund administration team responsible for all Fund Operations products, including both Guernsey and Cayman Regulated products, as well as a $multi-billion hedge fund platform
- Organisation of the team through managing staff resources efficiently, supporting staff and seeking to resolve any issues
- Regular liaison with fund sponsors, investment managers & other parties
- Ensure compliance with all Group and local regulations and guidelines
- Ensuring all valuation and reporting requirements are completed both accurately and within deadlines
- Full involvement with all new products and involvement with future product development and structuring discussions
- Be fully involved with the enhancement of the new fund administration and accounting system.
- Work very closely with the Director of Fund Operations and deputise in his absence.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The key responsibilities are to manage and oversee the following:
- Manage and maintain first class relationships with the client, ensuring delivery expectations are met
- Oversee the team activities in the following areas:
• NAV Calculations and checks
• Application of correct pricing
• Reconciliations
• Record keeping
• Post valuation checks
- Manage staffing and resource requirements, appraisals and training
- Ensure operational procedures are accurate, up to date, and complied with by the team
- Liaise with accounting, company secretarial, share dealing and compliance depts. and auditors
- Liaise with the various client departments
- Review of Performance Fee calculations
- Liaise with the New Business team on new product launches
- Company Strategy input and implementation
- Working closely with the Director of Fund of Funds with respect to budgets and head count
- Senior escalation point of contact for all un-resolved issues
- Training and assistance to all Team Managers with in the Section
- Dealing Directly with Audit partner and financial statements, with regard to issues on full sign off of financials
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (e.g. education, languages, shifts, travel overseas, hours):
Hold a relevant professional qualification
• Should have a MINIMUM of 10 years direct Fund Administration experience
• Must have extensive knowledge of fund structures and processes
• Must be conscientious and diligent
• Must be a dynamic team leader able to establish and maintain efficient, effective and flexible teams
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be a forward planner, with respect to staffing and the business
• Must be approachable at all times
• Must have a high degree of IT literacy and full knowledge of trading lifecycle processing, administration and accounting systems
• Must possess strong numerical and analytical skills
The purpose of the Senior Administrator role is: -
-To play a senior role within the team and support the Supervisor/AVP(s) in all areas.
-To assist with the organisation of the team, handling staff resources and resolve issues.
-Training & Development of administrators.
-Ensure compliance with all group & local regulations & Guidelines.
-Ensuring all valuation and reporting requirements are completed both accurately and within deadlines
Assist with liaison with fund sponsors, investment managers and other parties.
Senior Fund Adminstrator:
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
- The key responsibilities of a Senior Fund Administrator are as follows:
- NAV calculation checks/creation
- Stock/Cash reconciliation and query resolution
- Price tolerance verifications
- Post valuation checks
- Bank reconciliations
- Fee payments
- Trade processing and settlement reconciliation
- Review and maintenance of operational procedures as the business requires
- Liaison with accounting, company secretarial, compliance and control departments & Auditors.
- Calculation of performance fees / HWM re-sets.
- Checking the integrity of the ledger postings and procedures.
- Overseeing the following:
- Compliance with regulations / anti money laundering procedures.
- Resolve queries raised by administrators
- Interact with auditors and audit queries
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- GCSE level and studying for a Professional qualification (preferred)
- Minimum of 3-4 years experience in fund administration is essential for this role
- Excellent teamwork skills with a flexible, adaptable approach are essential in this fast growing team
- Accuracy, motivation and conscientiousness are key for this role
- Willing to work at the highest level under pressure
- Good knowledge and understanding of trade lifecycle, InvestOne and Bookkeeping
