With expansion of our economic capabilities in the US, an opportunity now exists for a Research Associate to work with our Global Oil Economist.

Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie's institutional stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance activities. MSG utilises its skills in research and risk management to develop equity-based financial solutions and services for clients globally.

Providing analysis and market intelligence across key industry sectors, Macquarie Research has one of the largest research teams in the Asia pacific region and has a significant presence in North America, the UK and South Africa. Macquarie's Economics Research team is an authoritative source of economic research, with responsibility for both domestic and international markets.

With expansion of our economic capabilities in the US, an opportunity now exists for a Research Associate to work with our Global Oil Economist. In this role, you will assist with forecasting and reporting the underlying drivers and future trends across the oil and natural gas industry. This will involve intense data analysis as well as reviewing and writing commentary, delivering your findings to internal clients and more broadly to sector professionals; and representing Macquarie at network and other industry related forums.

To be successful, you will have:

  • experience as an Equity or Commodity Research Associate in an oil related sector; or experience in a role requiring macroeconomic or oil industry analysis and valuation
  • a passion for wanting to develop a career in macroeconomic research
  • a university degree in an economics, finance or related discipline
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas succinctly
  • initiative to help build a quality product and be willing to work the hours to achieve your goals.
