A highly appealing new Investor Relations role has been created within a small and fast-growing, London-listed international insurance and reinsurance group with several underwriting platforms across the globe.  Working very closely with the senior management team, you will be instrumental in helping the Company to realise its full potential and market value by establishing and executing an exemplary Investor Relations offering. 

The candidate will have a strong financial/City background and be able to assert themselves with credibility and gravitas to all parties, internally and externally.  Although previous experience of working within the insurance sector would be highly advantageous, extensive support will be provided internally regarding sector expertise; a very high level of numeracy however is essential.  An extensive appreciation of the machinations of Investor Relations and well developed influencing and networking skills at all levels are critical.

An individual with sound commercial awareness and a detailed understanding of the global capital markets is prerequisite as is a thorough appreciation of the drivers of sell-side and buy-side behaviour and the decision making process. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement the overall strategy for a global investor relations programme

• Work closely with the senior management team to promote the perception of the Company’s performance and prospects to the capital markets; act credibly as the external spokesperson to the market and the financial community

• Develop appropriate messages/presentations to communicate business strategy and financial performance and organise/participate in 1:1 meetings and investor roadshows

• Initiate and develop relationships with sell and buy-side analysts, responding to information requests and monitoring and influencing reports and forecasts

• Manage relationships with external advisors and corporate brokers

• Identify and maintain best practices for disclosure to city audiences and for investor targeting; monitoring and evaluating market sentiment

• Keep senior management informed of market sentiment and advise on strategic communication; monitor the sector peer group

• Organise the preliminary and interim results presentations for analysts and investors as well as other ad hoc investor events and/or visits to Company operations

• Manage the Investor section of the Company website, ensuring that it is accessible, informative, easily navigated and of high perceived quality

• Maintain a comprehensive analysis of the share register.  Prepare monthly reports identifying share ownership trends, summarising analysts’ views on the Company and competitors and recommending appropriate management action resulting from these analyses.  Prepare the IR section of board reports.  

Skills and Experience:

• Experience of the insurance/financial services sector advantageous

• A strong financial background essential; accountancy/CFA/Corporate Finance qualifications desirable

• Excellent written and presentation skills

• A sound understanding of the UK capital markets

• Sound commercial acumen; a self-starter

• A proven, adept team player
