Head of Credit Product Control – SVP / Director Level

A global investment bank is seeking to strengthen its credit product control business with a senior head of Credit product control.  The role offers the ideal candidate excellent visibility to Senior Business Heads and the CFO in a dynamic and fast paced environment.  The ideal candidate will be a qualified CA accountant with at least 8 years experience in a credit product control environment.

Key Role & Responsibilities

1. Leading the Product Control team responsible for servicing the Credit Trading business. In this capacity the candidate will effectively be the financial partner for a business that will grow significantly over the next 5 years.

2. Take full responsibility for ensuring accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and p&l accounts for Credit. This will involve enhancing risk based p&l explanatory tools for the major risk components.

3. Play an integral role in improving infrastructure and control environment for the Credit business.

4. Ensure International Accounting Standards are applied and practiced across the Credit business.

5. Developing a strong working relationship with the Valuation Control and the Middle-Office Booking Model sections to ensure Credit is compliant with internal and FSA valuation control standards.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Educated to degree level; preferably with a Finance / Business background.
2. Qualified chartered accountant preferable with at least 8 yrs post qualifying experience and with experience in a major auditing / accounting practice.

3. In depth knowledge of Credit products.

4. A strong understanding of the financial and tax reporting requirements is preferred.
5. Ability to work under constant pressure to tight deadlines and deliver high quality output.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both written (report and guideline writing) and verbally.

7. Lateral thinker with ability to use own initiative.
