To develop first class Retail Credit Risk models/scorecards and Analytical solutions.To be an active member of a Modelling and Analytics team ensuring that Retail Decision Science builds excellent Retail Credit Risk models.To communicate and work with business stakeholders to build appropriate plans and

Lead analysts (where required), and provide input into the scoping, design, development, validation and implementation of risk models.
Provide technical leadership and coaching to junior team members, and help identify novel methods that could be used in other areas of Decision Science.
Assist in the preparation of business cases and resource plans for individual model developments. Perform individual key tasks within individual model development projects (with minimal management involvement), demonstrating good team working skills to help ensure that high quality models are delivered on time that meet business requirements and can be implemented.
Act as a point of contact throughout the model development life-cycle with stakeholders, as required, potentially including the business unit who require the model, other colleagues within the business sector, Retail Divisional Risk and Group Risk.
Where required, manage junior analysts, including the setting of clear objectives, and providing clear and objective feedback
Deliver feedback in a positive and motivating way.
Support your colleagues in preparing materials or presenting externally (where appropriate).
Start to develop and maintain a network of external contacts within the risk industry and be aware of relevant regulatory and legislative changes.

A good degree in a numerate subject, preferably at a postgraduate level, and preferably in a relevant subject (maths, statistics, operational research, economics).
Previous experience in the development of risk models in Retail Banking.
Good knowledge of modern risk management techniques within Retail Banking, and in the use of risk models within such an environment.
Experienced and competent in the use of statistical packages e.g. SAS (including dealing with large datasets) and model development environments.
Experienced in the extraction and manipulation of data to support risk model development, including defining observation periods, outcome periods, choosing a suitable 'bad' definition.
Proven ability to work without the need for close supervision, and in a team environment, supporting other team players as well as guiding others where needed while showing empathy.
Good communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Some experience and understanding of managing others.
A natural ability with numbers, with the ability to work quickly and at a high level of detail and accuracy.
