Senior Business Consultant

–      Capital Markets / FINANCE -

As Senior Business Consultant you are part of our team delivering business initiatives within the Trading & Risk Management division at Sapient focussing on clients from the Capital Markets/Finance sector. You will work closely with clients from front to back office developing business requirements and engaging directly with all relevant stakeholders. Understanding the business requirements, industry regulations & trends you will design, procure and implement system solutions that meet and exceed the business needs of our vastly expanding client base.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the initial process to identify and capture requirements from business clients
• Analyse business products and services, and their underlying process
• Identify and investigate internal and external solutions, evaluating effectively against requirements
• Present and validate recommendations
• Where appropriate create and coordinate teams to ensure successful project delivery. Acting as interface between the business and IT teams
• Plan and manage projects
• Test and challenge solutions throughout life-cycle
• Ensure test cases can be mapped back to the business requirements
• Act as interface between the business and IT teams
• Possible involvement in more than one business area and/or application system

EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

• Bachelors degree; MBA or MS degree in related field preferred
• Strong background in Capital Markets and Finance
• Full Life cycle project experience
• Understanding of Back Office processes including accounting, clearing, reconciliation, settlements and regulatory reporting (familiar with financial regulations and laws)
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments (bonds or loans and credit derivatives) including market conventions and valuation methods, Back Office processes, and the end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle, and Back Offices for the fixed income, credit and derivative related products
• Specific Vendor system exposure would be of great benefit i.e. Finesse, Calypso, Fidessa, Markit Wire, DTCC Deriveserv, Bloomberg, Reuters
• Strong structured analysis and diagnostic skills & methodologies know-how to gather and document requirements
• Demonstrate understanding of business analyst methodologies i.e. UML/ RUP
• Extensive experience in authoring Business Analysis documents (including Business/Functional Requirements, Business Cases, Test Strategy and Approach)
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and MS Project
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills
• Significant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site
