ASA Recruitment's client, a Big 4 is seeking an Actuarial Consultant.This exciting role is working within Financial Risk Management, an integrated group comprised of underlying Financial Services risk management, regulatory advisory and actuarial service areas.

Responsibilities

• Developing and winning new business through marketing and sales activities with both new and existing clients
• Delivery of client engagements, leading small teams and in some instances working within larger, multi-disciplinary teams
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internally and with clients
• Providing a high quality advisory service to Clients and other internal departments around areas of specialism
• Creation and contribution to high quality thought leadership around areas of specialism for written publications, training events, client seminars and conferences
• To take accountability for recording all working time, timely billing and recovery of client chargeable time
• Maintaining up to date knowledge in areas of specialism and keeping abreast with any pertinent developments.

Attributes:

• Qualified actuary with significant post qualification experience
• Previous experience of working in the life assurance industry or life consultancy at a senior level
• Knowledge of UK regulatory regime for life insurers
• Knowledge of UK reporting methodologies, e.g. UK GAPP, IFRS, FSA Returns
• Knowledge of overseas reporting methodologies would be an advantage e.g. USGAAP
• Knowledge of Embedded Value techniques
• Strong communication skills both written and oral and an ability to explain actuarial concepts to non-actuaries. The role will include making presentations to clients at external conferences and events
• A broad knowledge of life assurance products, knowledge of with-profits products would be an advantage
• Must be flexible and enjoy working on a wide range of projects, including projects outside current areas of experience.
