The Internal Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committees of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and the regulators. In this role, your responsibility will be to provide assurance that our internal control systems achieve the designed objectives. The global Audit team is responsible for assessing adequacy of the control environments across all of JPMorgan Chase businesses.
The Asset Management Audit Team is an integrated team of technology and business specialists who cover the Investment Management and Private Banking businesses.
As a member of the Asset Management Audit Team in Asia, you will be expected to design and implement the audit program of coverage which involves effective risk assessment and design of a prioritized risk coverage approach. You will be responsible for specific businesses and for executing the corresponding audit plan, for senior client relationships and for monitoring and influencing ongoing business projects throughout the year. All members of the team are expected to:
Perform detailed test workPartner with colleagues, clients and control community members to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls. This is conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and will require the presentation of root cause issues to senior client managementTrack management's corrective actions in response to control findingsDisseminate best practice and lessons learned to colleagues and clientsIdentify and follow up on specific audit issues and ensure appropriate involvement with significant development efforts or projects. In this capacity members of the team are often asked to join the steering or program control committee's of major projects to provide continuous feedback on control issues or compliance with best practice standardsPerform monitoring of periodic operational and financial related data to recognize patterns and trends with risk and control implicationsBuild effective contacts and relationships with client management and colleagues through effective teamwork and innovating thinkingThe candidate will also be a member of the Regional and Global Asset Management Audit teams with the opportunity to travel throughout the region and interact with colleagues in Asia Pacific, EMEA and NY locations.
Skills
CPA or equivalentA minimum of 8+ years of working experience with some exposure to asset management and the financial services industry including related processes/controls. Strong knowledge of investment products along with a good knowledge of the end to end transaction cycles and systems in asset management business will be a plus.Ability to understand potentially complex processes to identify and test key controlsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to act independently with minimum direction and supervisionAbility to carry out complex tasks under time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and qualityFlexible to set individual goals and objectives to be consistent with those of the Audit departmentA good understanding of the local/regional regulatory requirements is a plus
