The Institutional Securities Documentation (ISD) group is seeking a Master Agreement Negotiator within the Interest Rate, Currency and Credit area. The ISD team sits on the Interest Rate, Currency and Credit trading floor and forms part of the Sales & Trading Division/Bank Resource Management.

Morgan Stanley is a global financial services firm and a market leader in investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. With more than 600 offices in 35 countries, the people of Morgan Stanley are dedicated to providing our clients the finest thinking, products and services to help them achieve even the most challenging goals.

The focus of the role will be on master trading documentation (ie, ISDAs, CSAs) for a variety of Interest Rate, Currency and Credit  derivative products, which tend to be heavily negotiated.  This role also involves legal analysis of jurisdictional issues and counterparties’ capacity to undertake derivatives trading.

Although the role sits within Interest Rate, Currency and Credit, the successful candidate will also be exposed to a breadth of other work.  Negotiators work very closely with a variety of groups within both risk management and the business units, and are encouraged to build relationships with all these groups, as well as with clients and external counsel.  As a result, they quickly become first point of contact for a variety of queries, which makes this is a very attractive role with great learning and development potential.

As this role involves daily interaction with clients and senior members of the firm, excellent people skills and the ability to inspire confidence are essential

Skills required:

• Relevant experience in negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs and/or derivatives

• Legal background

• Excellent academics

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

• High level of attention to detail

• Good team player with ability to work independently

• Excellent organisational skills and ability to deal with multiple, varied priorities.

• Fluency in additional European languages would be an advantage

Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to fair treatment, regardless of background.
