We are currently recruiting a senior product control change management role for our client which is a large European investment bank. The successful candidate will look at the finance functions supporting the Banking business and will be responsible for redesigning the target operating model.

The team has responsibility for the delivery of the finance elements of a number of front to back integration and investment projects. The team has a mix of professional project managers, business analysts, process engineers and subject matter experts.
Projects include involvement with Front to back projects relating to the banking businesses globally as well as specific Support functions programmes, which would include Operations, Market Risk & Finance.

to represent Finance on a portfolio of investment projects aligned to the Finance Banking Product Control team. This role will look at the finance functions supporting the Banking business (Origination, Portfolio Management, Treasury, Asset Finance and Asset Management) and will be responsible for redesigning the target operating model.

The role will face off against relevant FTB product streams – the main one being the Lending programme - but is also likely to initiate and run its own distinct projects.

The role is likely to have a team in the region of 8 people being a mix of Finance leads, senior BAs and junior BAs although some of these may be product control SME resource managed virtually.

The projects will be managed to strict budgets and timeframes and will require individuals able to work in pressured environments while delivering high standards of work. The projects will be business focussed but will have the need to engage and be coordinated with any technical teams responsible for their component of the development and delivery.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for this role are to manage the project(s) over the full life cycle including:

• Liaising with stakeholders and users to determine project requirements and scope and produce project initiation documents
• Driving the production of business requirements and functional specifications
• Engagement with the technical teams to determine technical delivery plans, including resources
• Owning the project planning, controlling, reporting and chairing of control meetings
• Managing the project’s risks, issues and dependencies and developing resolutions
• Recruitment, development and individual management of a team of business analysts

The Individual

Specific business knowledge & technical knowledge required:

• Business analysis and design experience within a Finance environment
• A good understanding of the Financial Markets business
• Knowledge of the banking product control function and associated products (Lending, CDS, swaps, bonds etc)
• An understanding of front to back systems architecture and accounting environments
• Project Managements skills including a strong understanding of governance and project lifecycle
• Microsoft Office skills
• Experience of working on systems related projects within an investment banking or corporate banking arena
• Proven team management and leadership skills and the ability to deliver through others

Supplementary Experience:

• Knowledge of Finance systems used within Investment Banking would be advantageous
• Qualified accountant preferred
