Department



The EMEA Structured Finance Group reviews a wide range of complex and innovative products, including mortgage and asset backed securities, collateralised bond obligations, credit derivatives and asset backed commercial paper and repackaged bond transactions. The EMEA Structured Finance Group is segregated into seven main areas: 1. ABS - Asset Backed Securities 2. ABCP - Asset Backed Commercial Paper 3. Derivatives - Collateralised Debt Obligations & Repackaging Programmes 4. MBS - (Residential) Mortgage Backed Securities 5. CMBS - Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities & Property Related Operating Deals 6. Covered Bonds We require individuals who are able to lead our analysis of specific transactions and to further our rating methodologies. Candidates must have the ability to assess complex and innovative securitisation structures across all major European markets (also within new markets such Eastern Europe, Russia and Middle East) and be comfortable in conducting operational reviews of issuers and interact with market participants at all levels.

Responsibilities



We are looking for an analyst to work within the Covered Bonds team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for rating transactions backed by residential, commercial and public sector loans. This role is ideal for an experienced Lawyer who is seeking hands on deal related experience and the responsibility to form a view on all credit aspects of a structure. The successful applicant will from the start take responsibility for structural and documentation review and be able to form independent views on credit matters. Over time credit skills will be expected to develop, along with other skills such as collateral analysis and use of credit rating models. Key Responsibilities: - Reviewing legal documentation and opinions to form a view on key structural issues - Analysing all credit aspects of Covered Bonds. - Close cooperation with both the covered bond team and external market participants such as originators, law firms and investors. - Role will also include preparing and publishing articles on relevant topics to aid in communicating Moody's methodologies to other market participants.

Experience



- Proven experience within a law firm or financial institution, working in the Structured Finance markets. - Extensive legal document review - Logical analytical thought process. - Good understanding and knowledge of financial markets and structured products. - Willingness to learn and enjoy working in challenging working environment. - Understands the role of ratings agencies in credit markets.

Qualifications



- Fully Qualified Lawyer.
