A major investment bank based in Singapore is seeking to hire a Finance Director/mini-CFO with responsibility for relationship management, review, analysis and advisory and daily P&L production oversight. This is a great opportunity to be part of an expanding global markets finance business which is undergoing a finance transformation. This will be particularly attractive to experienced staff that understand front to back flows and are ready to take the next step into a business facing environment through the mini-CFO structure. Your role will be extremely visible to senior business heads offering a chance to identify yourself as early candidates wanting to advance themselves into its rotation program into other areas, roles and locations.
Key Responsibilities
(a)work with business and business manager to translate business vision into strategy and plans and market to business (incl. sales) and infrastructure management to secure necessary sponsorship, prioritization and funding;
(b)leverage the broader Finance capability (analytics, specialists (e.g. valuation and accounting policy) and the service centre) to provide timely and reliable financial and non-financial information and analysis; and
(c)provide independent challenge (e.g. business plan assumptions, market/competitor analysis etc).
• Establish broad agreement on the business’ overall priorities, expectations and deliverables and periodically re-assess;
• Assess changes in the external environment (e.g. market, competitors, accounting standards and regulations), business mix and internal support model
Qualifications and Experience
• An Accounting Qualification (strongly recommended) e.g. CA, CPA,
• Possess mini CFO thinking. Be able to challenge the current model and take
Initiative to reengineer the Finance process, as well as offer additional guidance to support business practices.
• Have a minimum of 8–10 years of investment banking environment/financial services experience
• Be able to deal with a multi system environment
• Be diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure
• Understand and act as a client relation manager with internal clients
• Possess strong communication skills
• Be prepared to be in the front line, handle queries and proactively handle issue resolution
• Question existing procedures, being able to point out weaknesses and suggest improvements challenging the status quo as necessary
