Markit is seeking a highly motivated Vice President to join the Markit MSA team and lead the content acquisition and product development efforts.

Department overview

With the backing of the largest players in the European equities markets, Markit MSA provides a transparent market share service, collecting and aggregating an estimated 60% of all cash equity trading in Europe across traditional exchanges, MTFs and OTC markets. With European stock coverage of around 25,000 unique instruments, Markit MSA has widespread coverage and is actively working to include all the major and specialised dealers in the cash equities market.

Position summary
 
Markit is seeking a highly motivated Vice President to join the Markit MSA team and lead the content acquisition and product development efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for extending the universe of contributing firms, leading all marketing initiatives and securing content for new product developments.

Duties & accountabilities

Development and execution of a content acquisition plan

Relationship management with existing accounts

Working with product/sales groups in the execution of contracts

Strategic work and thinking with client base to identify new initiatives and partnership opportunities

Participation in launch of new products and services

Internal communication and reporting

Business competencies
 
Education and experience

Broad based experience from a service provider, investment bank, asset manager or hedge fund with exposure to managing relationships, products and/or processes

Experience in key account management

Knowledge and experience of capital markets and especially cash equities

Knowledge of technologies and applications used in financial institutions

Understanding of market data, its use, licensing and cost structure

Existing relationships with the target client base would be beneficial

Commercial awareness
 
Key requirement of managing relationships towards the main objective of acquiring content year-on-year in line with the business plan.
